More "Special Delivery" Inspiration

When I think about a "Special Delivery" baby shower with a postal theme, I think of craft paper (paper bag) accents everywhere. Craft paper envelopes, little brown packages--and if for a girl (which ALL my friends are expecting), accented with different hues of pink, as well as black and white. If for a boy, the pinks could easily be swapped out for blues, turquoise, etc. Here are some little color swatches to help you see my vision.

I also see lots of cute accordion flowers appearing in bouquets, in banners, etc. Love this one from Lil' Luna.

And THIS! This combo of pennant banners, and accordion flowers, and craft paper, and book pages, and pink--well this is like straight from my dreams. Better than I could have dreamed actually. Can't you just see this stuff mixed in with cute envelopes everywhere and mailboxes?? Major props to The Crafting Chicks for this adorable decor.

Of course, what would a "Special Delivery" theme be without brown paper packages tied up with string? Wouldn't these make the cutest favors? This adorable picture is from here.

And lastly-- mailboxes! I'd love some cool rustic ones. Guests can write letters with advice for mom, or even letters for baby to read as he or she grows up. I love these ones on candlesticks from Life with the Goodlins.

And there you have it-- my brain as best as I can blog it for you in the early stages of this super fun theme. If it materializes in real life some time, I will definitely show you how it turns out.

And lastly for today, check out The Stationery Place for the final post on this years FUN Valentine Swap. Play along next year!!

Special Delivery Baby Shower Inspiration

Grrr. I am so behind (again). I still have to post about the Stationery Place's Valentine Swap--check back tomorrow for that. It was awesome!

In the mean time, I have a bunch of cute girlfriends who are expecting right now, so I've totally had baby showers on the brain. I saw this cute "Special Delivery" baby shower on the internet a few months ago and TOTALLY fell in love. I have been searching for it in vain for days now, but I FINALLY tracked it down on Sweet Designs by Amy Atlas.

All the little postal details are so stinkin' clever. Check out the cute mail box, and the adorable envelope packaging for the cookies!!

I'm obsessed with it, and hope I get to plan a "Special Delivery" shower myself. Check out the rest of the details for this shower here, and check back for a few more posts with "Special Delivery" inspiration.

Happy Birthday, Marc!

Happy 19th birthday to my baby brother, Marc! Since I can't be with him today to celebrate, I thought I would create a birthday party collage instead. If I could throw him his perfect birthday party today I would serve mac and cheese bites and a Pokemon birthday cake. I would give him Lord of the Rings Legos, and all the guests would play soccer and Halo with him all day.

What a funny kid you are Marc! We all love to tease our little brother, but he really is a special guy. I still remember when he was a little boy he would sneak down to my room in the middle of the night when he was supposed to be asleep. I'm the oldest, and he's the baby, and he's always been my little buddy. I can't believe he's a grown up now! He has always been a wonderful example, such a good friend and brother, and now he's an awesome uncle, too. He is good at so many things, but still so humble. I'm so proud and so excited for him to serve his mission in Houston, Texas! He is going to be AMAZING. Happy birthday, Marc! I love you.

More Valentine Love

My sister, Leslie is not only a great photographer, but has great taste and craft talent, too! These are a couple of her Valentine projects she made to adorn her cute apartment. Check them out, and check out more of her great pictures here

How cute and easy are these candles? Wrap candles you already have with festive paper, ribbon, and heart cut-outs.

Accordion fold cute strips of paper and staple the ends to make these cute flowers. Add the same heart cut-outs on top and tape to some wooden skewers. I love these vases Leslie used, but any you have around the house will do.

Thanks for the great ideas, Les! Don't forget to check out more of her amazing photography!

Valentine Jars on The One Charming Party Show

Season 2 of The One Charming Party Show has officially begun (on My Craft Channel), and I'm on the first episode! It was so much fun filming this with Brittany last month (even though I was completely clueless and nervous). On this Valentine episode I demo how to make the spray-painted mason jars from yesterday. Click on the link below to check it out!

And don't forget--today is the last day to enter the Confetti Sunshine Valentine Package Giveaway! Check back here Monday to find out who won. Have a great weekend!

Valentine Jars

You've probably seen the dyed mason jars that are so popular at weddings and other summer parties. This is my version of the spruced up mason jar. These spray painted jars are a fun option you could use as a Valentine's gift. You could use them to serve candy or display flowers at your Valentine's party, too.

If you want the tutorial on these babies, come back tomorrow! I will be linking up to The One Charming Party Show. I'm Brittany Egbert's guest, and I'll be doing a demo on these very jars! Kinda cool, kinda embarrassing. :)

And if you haven't already entered, don't forget about the Confetti Sunshine Valentine Package Giveaway!

A Valentine for Guys

Last year I gave this to my Valentine.

I called it a man-bouquet because it was a little frilly looking, but was full of all the boy treats my husband loves (David Sunflower Seed's slogan is "Eat. Spit. Be Happy."). I sent it to him at work where he could chew and spit to his heart's content. I LOVE Valentine's Day, but when it comes to gifts, there's so little out there that seems to say "GUY." Here's what I've pulled together this year for the boys in your life.

I found this little vintage tool box at a local consignment store. I've heard they have kits to make them at Home Depot, but even if you can't dig up a cute tool box, I think an empty paint can would look just as cute. I filled this one with yummy sodas (Crush for Valentine's, of course), but you could fill your manly receptacle with any treat. I think this would look adorable set out at a Valentine party, as well.

Thanks for stopping by, and don't forget to enter the Confetti Sunshine Valentine Giveaway!
